Lori Wheat represents Bremerton City Council District 4 which includes neighborhoods near Downtown, the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, and Olympic College.  

Due to the election of Mayor Greg Wheeler (former Council Member), Lori was appointed to the District 4 position and served until the General Election results were certified on November 5, 2019. She was then elected to office for her first term through 2023.    

In 2020, Lori is Vice-Chair for the Public Works Committee; a member of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Project Review Committee; is one of two representatives from the City of Bremerton on the Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council; and serves on the City Council’s Race Equity Advisory Committee which was established July 1.   

She has also been awarded the Certificate of Municipal Leadership by the Association of Washington Cities. The CML Program recognizes elected officials for accomplishing training (over 30 hours) four core areas: Roles, responsibilities, and legal requirements; Public sector resource management; Community planning and development; and Effective local leadership.
