WSF Ferry Service to be Fully Restored by This Summer; Plans Include Restoring Bremerton/Seattle Route to Two-Boat Service
I was proud to be part of the press conference and announcement this morning by Governor Bob Ferguson that Washington State Ferries (WSF) will delay hybrid-electric conversion for two of the state’s largest ferries, increasing the number of operating vessels on the water, and putting the state ferry system on the path to full restoration by this summer. It was an honor to speak at the press conference today to relay the importance of these actions on our community.
This means that the Bremerton/Seattle route will have state ferry service fully restored – with two boats returning to the route after having one ferry on the route for several years.
I want to thank all of those who collaborated with us on these efforts to fully restore service and the numerous partnerships we have had at the federal, state and local level. I am grateful to Governor Ferguson and Washington State Ferries for committing to restore state ferry service that will benefit our residents, our workforce and will continue to support our quality of life.
