[ARCHIVED] Message from Mayor Wheeler

City of Bremerton offers parking level in KCC Harborside Garage for use as drive-thru COVID-19 testing site on Tuesdays, beginning Dec. 8

As Mayor, I’m pleased to announce the City’s partnership with the Kitsap County Emergency Operations Center and Kitsap Public Health District on a new COVID-19 drive-thru testing site at Harborside parking garage at the Kitsap Conference Center. The City was able to quickly convert one level of the garage, which will be used as a testing site each Tuesday, by its partners to make COVID-19 testing available to the community. Please see the message below on the COVID-19 testing site partnership and details on testing criteria, scheduling, and other information for the location beginning tomorrow, December 8.

Partnership Announcement on Drive-thru COVID-19 Testing Site

Drive-thru COVID-19 testing available on Tuesdays at the Harborside Garage in Bremerton

New site in the Kitsap Conference Center Harborside Parking Garage replaces a testing site hosted by Olympic College.

KITSAP COUNTY, WA — A new drive-thru COVID-19 testing site opens Tuesday, Dec. 8, in the second (green) level of the Kitsap Conference Center Harborside Parking Garage, at 2nd Street and Washington Avenue by Bremerton Marina.

The site is operated by the Kitsap County Emergency Operations Center and Kitsap Public Health District, in partnership with the City of Bremerton. Testing will be offered from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays, for anyone who has COVID-19 symptoms, has been exposed to a COVID-19 case, or meets other testing criteria.

“I’m proud to be part of this important partnership and that the City is able to offer a new site for COVID-19 testing in Bremerton,” said Bremerton Mayor Greg Wheeler. “Residents and workers need to have access to testing to know if they have been exposed and to control the spread of the coronavirus. The Harborside garage at the Kitsap Conference Center fits the criteria for a drive-thru location and City staff worked alongside our partners to pull out the stops to establish the site quickly for our community.”

Participants must book appointments for testing online or by phone. A healthcare provider visit and health insurance are not required to access testing. Go to kcowa.us/covidtesting for information about this and other drive-thru testing locations in Kitsap County.

Changes to parking
To accommodate the new COVID-19 testing site, the green level in the garage will be closed to parking every Tuesday beginning Dec. 8. Reserved spaces on the blue level and parking for the general public on the red level will remain open. Signs will be posted on Tuesdays by the testing center indicating the green level in the garage is closed.
