The City of Bremerton would like to release the City of Bremerton Community Development Block Grant Project Review Committee 2021 Funding Recommendations for Public Comment. Comments will be welcome between September 28th and October 28th, 2020. A Virtual Public Hearing will be held during the Bremerton City Council regularly scheduled meeting on November 4th at 5:30 PM WA, to review the 2021 City of Bremerton Projected Use of Funds, to be included in the City of Bremerton 2021 Action Plan.

Estimated funds available totaled approximately $477,000. Sources of this funding include estimated 2021 entitlement, estimated 2021 Program Income. In addition to the Federal objectives for CDBG programs, local City of Bremerton priorities and polices were considered by the citizen members of the Project Review Committee when reviewing applications.

The City of Bremerton is an Entitlement Community under the federally funded Community Development Block Grant Program. Funds are received annually from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for local projects that primarily benefit low income people, and preserve or increase units of affordable housing. The City of Bremerton published a 2021 Policy Plan detailing the management of its CDBG program. The funding recommendations are included in the 2021 Action Plan will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development by the City of Bremerton.
