Mayor Wheeler Signs New Emergency Order Permitting Outdoor Restaurant Seating on Private Property
Today, Mayor Wheeler signed an emergency order to permit outdoor restaurant seating in parking lots on private property. This order is in addition to the directive signed on July 29 that allows outdoor dining on public on-street parking.
Both orders are part of a united effort to help dining establishments expand outdoor dining due to the economic impacts caused by COVID-19. Two separate orders meet requirements for public and private property.

“Expanding dining outdoors in private lots will help our local restaurants facing reduced seating indoors due to COVID-19,” said Mayor Wheeler. “This second emergency order increases the number of restaurants eligible to provide dining outside and opens up more opportunities for dining for residents.”
The resolution goes into effect immediately and will remain in place until further notice.
