Statement on groundbreaking of CHI Franciscan's new primary care facility on Kitsap Way
The Kitsap Sun published an article today about the groundbreaking of CHI Franciscan’s new primary care facility on Kitsap Way on Monday. Please see the following statement by Mayor Wheeler delivered at the event and mentioned in the article.
“Our great city of Bremerton - the largest in Kitsap County - is experiencing unprecedented growth in a way we haven’t seen before. As our population grows, so will the need for access to high-quality healthcare,” Mayor Wheeler said.
“Today’s groundbreaking symbolizes CHI Franciscan’s commitment to continue providing vital medical services to the Bremerton community through its new outpatient clinic. The clinic will also house the Northwest Family Medicine Residency Program, training the future physicians of tomorrow. We’ll see 24 new doctors within the next three years - increasing access to care for everyone in the community,” Mayor Wheeler added.
“CHI Franciscan is a valued partner, and we appreciate their continued investment in a healthcare presence in Bremerton. This facility will help those who are low-income, uninsured and disabled who don’t have the resources to travel outside the City to receive care. It will also provide essential services to meet the demands of more population growth on the horizon,” said Mayor Wheeler.
“Everyone deserves great healthcare close to home, and we appreciate CHI continuing to serve our residents into the future. Let’s celebrate as we break ground on a promise for a strong and healthy community.”
