Drivers who use the Manette Bridge on State Route 303 in Bremerton may encounter delays August 22-23. Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close the span to all traffic over two days while they work on the bridge deck.
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 22-23: Both directions of the Manette Bridge will close to all traffic. Signed detours will direct motorists around the closures using the Warren Avenue Bridge.
During the closures, crews will clean and prepare two 50-foot-long sections of bridge deck. Workers will then apply two specialized products to the cracks in the deck’s concrete. The products are being tested to gauge their performance for use on other bridge decks. Crack-sealing the concrete will help protect the steel rebar embedded inside the deck from water damage.
The products must be applied in dry weather, and the work and closures will be postponed in the event of rain.
