Project Overview
The original Well 7 was drilled in 1945. It is located off of SR 16 on the south side of Sinclair Inlet near Anderson Hill Road. The well had been rehabilitated multiple times over the years, with a capacity around 300 gallons per minute. In 2022, the well stopped producing water and a decision was made to drill a new well on the same property. The project consists of drilling a new production well to an estimated depth of 650 feet using fluid-rotary techniques. After the new well is drilled and tested, City staff will install the piping and electrical components to put the well into service.
Project Status (September 6th, 2024)
The contract for the well drilling was awarded to Tacoma Pump and Drilling in August 2024 for $851,650.80. The drilling will start in January 2025 with anticipated completion by June or July 2025. Robinson Noble (part of TerraPhase) will be providing hydrogeological support during the well drilling.
