Haddon Park is an aging neighborhood park which is intended to serve the surrounding residential area within a 10-minute walk and has not seen a capital investment for over 22 years. The park’s renovation is identified as a high priority in the 2020 Parks, Recreation & Open Space Plan with the goal to provide the neighborhood a safe, accessible and close-to-home place to recreate and play. The Bremerton Parks & Recreation Department is developing a master plan for Haddon Park in preparation for applying for grant applications this summer.
Below is a schematic concept based on recommendations made in the 2020 Parks, Recreation & Open Space Plan and comments from an in-depth questionnaire mailed out to 980 residents living within a 10-minute walk of the park. Nearly 130 households filled out the 2-page survey and answers to the 40 multiple choice questions were supplemented by over 900 written comments.
We are still early in the process so now is a great time for you to tell us what you think. Please review the Haddon Park Concept and provide your comments by July 15, 2020.You are also encouraged to share photographs of things you like and don’t like about the park, or submit videos showing how the park is used.
If you would like to receive updates on the project, or invites to upcoming meetings, please provide your email address.
