How does the "drop-by" concept work?: "Drop-by" means that no registration is necessary to participate. Your child can choose to come at any point in the program. While we do encourage participants to stay on-site, "drop-by" means that you and your child are responsible for discussing his or her attendance.

1. What is Fun at the Playgrounds?: Fun at the Playgrounds is a free recreation program for Bremerton youth. Held at 3 playground sites in Bremerton, it is a drop-by program that provides safe summer fun geared towards children ages 6 to 12.

2. How does the "drop-by" concept work?: "Drop-by" means that no registration is necessary to participate. Your child can choose to come at any point in the program. While we do encourage participants to stay on-site, "drop-by" means that you and your child are responsible for discussing his or her attendance.

3. When does Fun at the Playgrounds start?: Playground Program typically runs 5 weeks July - August from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. between Monday - Friday.

5. Is my child too old or young to participate?: We design our games and activities to be appropriate for children ages 6-12, but free lunch is provided for ALL children 18 and under.

6. What kinds of things will my child do at Fun at the Playgrounds?: Staff members work together to plan specific activities at each site. Your child can expect to have the opportunity to play games and sports, do arts and crafts, participate in a reading program, and above all to have fun! Throughout the summer there will be guest presentations, ice skating opportunities, and special site events. In addition, free lunch is offered daily.

7. Who will be supervising the sites?: Each site is staffed by a site leader and recreation aides who run and supervise all Fun at the Playgrounds activities. All staff members and volunteers have successfully completed background checks. Playgrounds staff members have also been trained in CPR and First Aid.

8. Does my child need to bring a lunch?: No, a nutritious lunch is provided free of cost by the Bremerton School District for children ages 18 and under. Lunch is served at noon every day.

9. What should my child wear or bring?: We recommend your child wear clothing and shoes they can run and play in. Depending on the weather, a sweatshirt or light jacket is also advisable. Sending your child with a water bottle is a good idea and don't forget sunscreen! We highly discourage bringing any valuables.
