I have directed our Parks and Recreation Department to take additional actions to reduce the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Please see notice below.

City of Bremerton Responds to Coronavirus 

Organized outdoor activities and permitted park events canceled 

Bremerton, WA (March 17, 2020) – As our area faces impacts due to the coronavirus, the City of Bremerton is following state and federal government directives and health department guidance to slow the spread of the virus in our area. The City’s focus is on protecting the health and safety of our residents and our community during this unprecedented time.

**Mayor Greg Wheeler announced the following changes for the City of Bremerton effective today, Tuesday, March 17, 2020** 

Bremerton Parks and Recreation is canceling all programming, rentals, leagues, activities, and permitted park events, and has closed all athletic fields, and selected park restrooms to the public effective Tuesday, March 17. Please see the list below for an overview of Bremerton Parks and Recreation impacts. For questions or information on refunds, please contact 360-473-5305.

TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE:

  • Facilities: All athletic fields are closed. Sheridan Park Community Center and Bremerton Senior Center have also been closed. 
  • Selected Park Bathrooms: All bathrooms at Pendergast Regional Park, NAD Park, Forest Ridge Park, Haddon Park, and Harborside Fountain Park are closed. Main restrooms at Lions Park and Evergreen Rotary Park remain open. 
  • Programs: All recreation and athletic programs, leagues, classes and activities are canceled.
  • Rentals: All Bremerton Park and Recreation facility reservations are canceled for parks and shelters. Customers will be contacted with refund options. No new reservation requests will be accepted.
  • Special Events: All permitted park events are canceled or postponed. No new park event permit applications will be accepted at this time.

CURRENTLY OPEN:

  • Parks: All Bremerton parks, trails and open spaces are open, with the exception of athletic fields. Community members are encouraged not to congregate and to follow public health guidance.

“These are unprecedented times, and we must do what we can to slow the spread of COVID-19 to protect our citizens in the City and in the community,” said Mayor Greg Wheeler.
