Protection Order Process
Bremerton Municipal Court has jurisdiction within the city limits of Bremerton. Because it is a court of limited jurisdiction, it is limited as to the type of relief it may offer to those requesting protection. You must fill out the appropriate paperwork and appear in person before the judge. All petitions must be received in the clerk’s office by 2:00 pm in order to be heard that same day. Harassment & Stalking Orders Harassment Orders
You are seeking protection from someone who has acted without legitimate or lawful purpose, has seriously alarmed, annoyed, or distressed you. These types of actions would cause a reasonable person substantial emotional distress and have actually caused you substantial emotional distress. The filing fee for this type of order is $73.
You are seeking protection from someone who has acted without legitimate or lawful purpose and has harassed, followed, or monitored you and makes you feel intimidated, frightened, or threatened. This behavior has occurred more than once. This may also involve cyberstalking which is transmitting threats or obscene words or pictures to or about you 1 or more times.
