Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan

Bremerton Parks & Recreation wants to hear from you!

The City of Bremerton is in the process of updating it’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan. This plan is used to guide the development and operation of the City’s Parks and Recreation System. Your input is a crucial component of the plan.

2026-2030 PROS Plan

Bremerton Parks and Recreation staff and Commission members are actively reviewing and updating the city’s Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Plan, which provides a road map to develop a quality system of parks, open spaces, trails, and recreation facilities within the community!

The 2026-2030 PROS Plan will be used to guide the development and operation of the city’s park and recreation system and is required to be updated every six years to maintain eligibility for state and federal grants. 

Input and updated information is currently being collected and will be incorporated in the new PROS Plan including citizen comments received throughout the process. Members of the public are invited to attend a series of Parks and Recreation Commission meetings during 2025 that will have different aspects of the plan discussed at each meeting. The Parks and Recreation Commission will review the PROS Plan update in the late summer and recommended approval of the updated PROS Plan by the City Council at their December regular meetings.

The current PROS Plan, including maps and previous survey responses, is available for public review.

Get Involved

The City of Bremerton’s Parks and Recreation Commission and department staff will be holding a series of public opportunities to provide comments on and listen to discussions regarding the update to the plan throughout the 2025 year. These discussions will be held in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation Commission’s regular monthly meetings which will be held on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 5:30-7:00PM at the Sheridan Park Community Center, 680 Lebo Blvd. 

Each meeting will contain regular business of the Commission as well as time dedicated to discussion regarding the PROS Plan. Below is the schedule for topics that will be discussed at each meeting.

  • January 28th: PROS Plan Kick-Off!
  • February 25th: Regional and Community Parks
  • March 25th: Neighborhood Parks & Pocket Park
